3/182 Coach-house and
attached yard walls,
to north of Newton Hall

Coach house and attached outbuildings, with attached yard and garden walls.
Late C18. Coach house, outbuildings and yard walls tooled squared stone,
garden wall rubble; Welsh slate roofs. Rectangular yard on north of Hall has
coach house, flanked by outhouse, in centre of north side. Garden wall runs
east from north-east corner of yard.

Elevations to yard: Coach house 2 storeys, 3 bays. 1st floor band. Renewed
double doors in segmental arch on left and boarded door on right, with 12-pane
sash between. Five 2-pane casements above, the intermediate ones C20
insertions. Coped gables, that to left with weathervane; banded ridge stack.
Set back to right and left are single-storey outbuildings with stable and
boarded doors and small windows; pent roofs against taller yard wall behind.
Side walls each have gateway with square pyramid-capped piers (one pier of
east gateway cut back to widen gate), and coping ramped up to join taller
north wall. South end of west wall links to Stable (q.v.). Yard walls have
low-pitched coping.

Attached to rear face of north wall at west end is midden enclosed by 1-metre
high walls with similar coping. Garden wall with similar coping, ramped down
twice, runs for c.20 metres to end in pier with banded pyramidal cap.
