NU 02 NW CHATTON COLDMARTIN

4/13 Gingang & barn c. 30 yds
north of Towermartin Farmhouse

GV 11

Gingang and threshing barn. Early C19. Random rubble and pantiles. Octagonal
gingang attached to 2-storey barn. Gingang roof supported on squared blocks of
masonry except for one round pillar to right of door. Spaces between pillars now
filled with iron framed windows and corrugated iron.

Interior roof structure: massive tie beam, then above, a wheel shape created by
radiating collar beams. A second radiating collar nearer the apex.

Barn, with chamfered door and window surrounds, included mainly for group value.
