NU 02 SW CHATTON EAST HORTON

2/15 Cottages Nos. 4-7(Consecutive)

Terrace of cottages. Originally 8 cottages now 4. C18 with C19 additions and
alterations. Coursed rubble. Plan was originally lobby entrance, two rooms,
fireplace to each room. Mid C19 kitchen extensions added at rear to most cottages.
Also C19 ashlar surrounds to some doors and windows. Other windows have rendering
in imitation of flat raised surrounds. Several smaller fire windows, some blocked.
Windows re-newed sashes. Stone stacks with cornices. A well-preserved example of
a rare, early type of estate cottages.
