Animal shelter, probably an antelope shelter from the private zoo belonging
to Thomas Leyland of Haggerston Castle. Late C19. Timber framed with vertical
boarding; Welsh slate roof. Small building of 1 storey, 4 bays. 2nd bay has
round-arched entrance with 5 barred gate. Three 2-light windows with segmental
heads to lights, each window under a dormer with bargeboards. Gabled roof with
ornamental cresting.
