screen wall at entrance
to Thirston House
GV II
Gate piers, gate and screen wall. Wall and outer piers early C19, inner
piers and gate probably 1902. Squared tooled stone, ashlar, wrought iron.
Panelled monolith piers with low pyramidal caps hold openwork gate with
scrolled ornament. Quadrant walls with low gabled coping link to outer piers
with similar caps.
