Farm buildings to west
of Prior's Hall Farmhouse
GV II
Farmbuildings, south range dated 1777 on lintel, north range with dates of 1820
and 1828. Squared stone with tooled dressings; stone slate roof on north range,
slate elsewhere. Ranges on 3 sides of rectangular farmyard open to the east.
North range 2 storeys, 5 irregular bays: shelter sheds with granary over. Arcade
of 3 segmental arches ('T, Stokoe 1820' on left pier) with boarded door to right
and stone stair on left to boarded granary door, J.T. 1828 on lintel; part-slatted
windows to right. West range single-storey former threshing barn. 2 boarded
doors in alternating-block surrounds. South range single-storey former byres, now
tractor shed. 2 boarded doors in chamfered surrounds; 2 similar doors to rear;
C20 opening in east gable.
