Terrace retaining wall. 1810-17 by Sir Charles Monck. Ashlar. c. 140 yards
long and 8 ft. high. In 2 sections.

To left a 50-yard section with 11 segmental arches forming recesses c.4 ft. deep.
Left of this a section of plain walling.

To right, plain walling runs at a canted angle north-east for c.50 yards and
ends in a very large square pier.
