NY 86 NE NEWBROUGH STONECROFT

6/113 Stone croft House

House, early C19. Ashlar front, sides and back of squared stone; slate roof.
Front 2 storeys,3 windows, symmetrical. Plinth, raised quoins and paired stone
eaves brackets. Central 6-panel door with 3-pane fanlight and pedimented hood
on scrolled corbels, 12-pane sash windows, all openings in channelled architraves.
Low-pitched hipped roof, twin ridge stacks rebuilt on old bases. Right return
shows French window with radial head, stepped and shouldered lintel. To rear a
round-headed stair window with radial glazing, later C19 wing to right.
Interior: 6-panelled doors, stair with moulded and wreathed handrail.
