Churchyard memorial. 1874. By R.L. Armstrong. Ashlar. Inscribed plinth with statue
above. 2-stage square base has rounded top edge with leafy carving. Square column
above with cable-moulded edges and inscription:

Erected by the workers of Prudhoe Colliery in memory of John Wormald aged 57
years who accidentally lost his lefe on the first day of June 1874 on the engine
plane while following his vocation as overman in Prudhoe Colliery.
A constant friend to those under his charge and a man of an affectionate and
amiable disposition and endeared to all who knew him.

Above this a concave cornice with leaf carving and the figure of the deceased kneeling
on one knee with his elbow resting on his other knee. Very rustic carving.
