NZ 06 SE PRUDHOE DURHAM RIDING

18/131 Farmbuildings attached
to Durham Riding Farmhouse

Farmbuildings and dovecote. Early C19. Random rubble with ashlar dressings
and Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys. L-shaped. Long range attached to right of
house has, on left, a 3-bay stable with granary over; plank door on right in
stop-chamfered surround. Similar surrounds to windows which are [-shuttered
with 6 panes above. Next a byre with plank door and external stone stair to
1st floor granary. Blocked segmental arch right of stair. Ventilation slits
on both floors.

Projecting wing to right has 2 similar bays and then 3-storey, l-bay, dovecote
tower with two heavily-moulded circular surrounds to wood dovecote screens on
top floor. Dovecote has pyramidal roof. Gabled roof elsewhere.
