7/1 Ladywell farmhouse

House. C17 core, altered C18 and early C19. Random rubble with pantiled roof.
2 storeys, 2 broad bays with almost central plank door in plain surround.
Ground-floor windows are late C19 sashes. Smaller upper windows are Yorkshire
sashes. Gabled roof with thin raised coping and reversed crow-step gables,
upper part of gable partly rebuilt in brick. Rebuilt brick end stacks.

Interior: 2 large C18 fireplaces with flat lintels. Upper rooms formerly open
to roof, which is said to have curved principals with tie and collar beams.

Many stones on external walls have carved shapes and initials. The house was
used as Presbyterian meeting house in later C17.
