14/34 The Old School


Former primary school, now house, 1831 by John Dobson. Ashlar with Welsh slate
roof. School room with former schoolmaster's house forming L-shape. 4 irregular
bays. The 3 left bays are one tall storey and have wood cross casements in
chamfered surrounds. Right bay now 2-storey, has C20 24-pane sash on ground
floor and casement above.

Gabled roof with flat coping and close-set moulded corbels supporting eaves.
Stone corniced and conjoined ridge stack.

Mid C20 addition on left return not of special interest.
