School House

GV II

Former school now private house. Mid C19, porch built 1852. Dressed stone
with Welsh slate roof. Single-storey, 4-bay school with gabled roof.

Porch on right return built of Roman stones from Bremenium (High Rochester).
The stones include many channelled gutterstones and the ball finials to the
kneelers are ballistae or projectiles from spring guns.

C20 addition to left not of special interest.
