21/118 The Forge


Forge, mid-C18. Rubble with roughly-cut dressings; pantile roof with 2 courses
of stone slates to front eaves, and brick stacks. Single storey, 4 bays: stable
door in 3rd bay flanked by blacksmiths' windows, all in irregular stone
surrounds; similar window to far left with wedge lintel. Coped left gable and
banded end stack.

Left return shows 2 similar windows. Large rectangular lateral stock, rebuilt
on old base, at rear.
