Bottle kiln, early C19. Brick in English garden wall bond 3 and 1. Kiln
c. 15 metres high, with opening in raised panel to south west, with timber
lintel under relieving arch of engineering brick; blocked opening to east.
7 courses of white engineering brick 2.5 metres above ground level.

Walker's Pottery operated from the early C19 until c.1914, producing pipes,
tiles and low-grade pottery for agricultural use, as well as bricks. One of
the few remaining examples of a Tyne Valley rural pottery.

Scheduled Ancient Monument.
