and gates to
Sandhoe Hall


Entrance screen and gates, dated 1870. Rock-faced stone, ashlar dressings,
wood, cast iron. Tall 4-centred arch holding panelled double gates with open
panels above rail; heavy ornamental ironwork includes fleur-de-lys cresting.
Flanking gabled buttresses and flat-coped parapet stepped up over dated tablet
with Errington arms. Lower walls to sides have pedestrian entances with
pointed arches and studded panelled doors.
