Toll house, probably 1757 (date of opening of turnpike). Roughly-squared
rubble with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roof. Single
store, 2 bays. Renewed glazed door in alternating-block surround on left; 16-
pane sash windows with cut lintels and sills. Coped gables, central ridge
stack. Small windows in each return, that to left with old 9-pane fixed
casement, that to right with renewed glazing.

C20 extensions set back to left and at rear, not of interest.

Originally known as Brunton Turnpike.
