Planned farm buildings, early Cl9. Squared stone, tooled and margined
dressings, slate roofs. Double foldyard has 2-storey range at rear with
taller gable end of threshing barn in centre. To right of foldyard a single
storey range, to left a 2-storey range with cottage. Foldyard divided by
wall running to central loose-box with segmental-arched gable entrance. Low
flag-roofed structure attached to right return of threshing barn has boarded
door giving access to large waterwheel in pit beneath barn floor. To right
rear of main range is attached smithy with ashlar stack. Segmental-arched
cart entrances, and part-glazed part-slatted windows. Gables of threshing
barn have round windows and block finials. A well-preserved group of
buildings, the waterwheel, which retains its drive shafts and gearing, being
of especial interest; the smithy also retains most of its fittings.
