21/118 Sipton Bridge,
over Sipton Sike

Bridge. Early C19. Coursed rubble. Tall round-headed arch, the upper part
open and the lower enclosing a lower elliptical tunnel, with paved invert,
through which the stream flows. Low transverse walls and buttress-like
features in the open upper section of the main arch suggest that some form
of metal bracing may be encased in the masonry, and there are 3 iron ties
above the arch. Flanking pilasters; simple flat coping to parapet.
