II

Chapel (Primitive Methodist) dated 1860 above door. Squared stone, rusticated
ashlar quoins and door and window surrounds. Slate roof, later brick gable
stacks. Simple rectangular plan, built onto a steep hillside. Road front 1
storey, 2 bays, symmetrical. Central 4-panel door with fanlight under round-
headed arch, flanked by round-headed 24-pane sashes. Panel above door in
surround with dog-tooth moulding, inscribed 'PRIMITIVE METHODIST JUBILEE CHAPEL'
with date. Rear elevation 1 storey and basement, with various openings, 2
round-headed sashes above. Interior has C19 fittings: pews, communion rails,
pulpit.
