4/66 Methodist Chapel


Methodist Chapel, formerly Baptist, dated 1842. Coursed rubble with cut
quoins and dressings; slate roof. Gable front has central renewed double
doors in raised stone surround with raised blocks at angles; stone above
inscribed BAPTIST/JUBILEE CHAPEL with date. Flanking 18-pane sash windows
with intersecting glazing bars under pointed arches. Coped gable. Similar
windows to rear.

The chapel may incorporate earlier fabric; the Baptist burial ground behind
was in use as early as the mid-C17.
