8/200 Whitehall Methodist


Chapel, dated 1871. Coursed rubble with tooled dressings; slate roof. Main
part 3 bays; central gabled porch with vertical-panelled door and plain
overlight, bargeboards with simple scroll pattern and finial. Gablet behind
porch has panel inscribed 'WESLEYAN CHAPEL' with date; similar bargeboards
and finial. Flanking bays have 6-pane sashes under round arches, with coloured
glass in spandrels; tooled voussoirs and slightly-projecting sills. Coped
gables. Set back to right, l-bay schoolroom has vertical-panelled door and
4-pane sash to right; coped gable and corniced stone end stack.
