17/278 The Old School

GV II


School, now house, c. 1840. Roughly-coursed stone with tooled quoins
and dressings; slate roof, 1 storey, 3 bays. Large 2-light mullioned
windows holding iron-latticed cross casements; coped gables, end stacks.
Set back to left, a lower porch with 16-pane sash set in earlier door
opening. Rear elevation shows 2 similar 2-light cross casements. Later
extension to north not of interest.
