House. Probably late C17 with Cl9 alterations and additions. Squared stone
and dressings; renewed slate roof and rebuilt stone chimneys. 2 storeys, 2
windows. Large roughly-shaped quoins and fragment of boulder plinth at right;
smaller squared quoins at left. Tooled C19 surrounds: central replaced French
windows and side lights; flanking replaced casements. Raised eaves. Roof has
right end stack. Boulder plinth on right return. 2-storey, C19 gabled wing on
right rear. Interior: large ground-floor room with adzed ceiling beams (some
with chamfers and run-out stops). 3 pairs of adzed upper crucks of heavy
scantling with halved and pegged collars. Rebuilt single-storey outshut on
rear is not of special interest.
