Drinking fountain. 1865 in memory of John Blenkinsop Coulson. Sandstone.
2.0-metre tall, banded, square-plan block on roll-moulded base. Semicircular
basins with squat colonettes and foliage capitals on both returns. Inscription
on front: ERECTED IN MEMORY OF JOHN BLENKINSOP COULSON .... BY HIS WIDOW AND
FAMILY 1865. Top section, above hollow-chamfered band with stiff-leaf carving,
has a gable on each face. Gable with carved foliage borders and roll-moulded
ridges contain oval plaques (with swan on front and Blenkinsop shield on
returns). Vase finial with carved foliage on octagonal-plan base.
