1/4 Barn at Hall Farm

Barn. C17. Timber framed with pantile roof. Coursed squared
rubble plinth, brick and rubble infill, mainly rendered. Single
storey, 7 plus 2 bays, originally longer. North front has, to
left, 4 C20 casements and close boarded door; 2 stable doors
with overlights, flanking a single casement; to right, 5
casements on 2 levels. West gable has close boarded door and
single casement; rear elevation has, to right, C20 sliding
doors. Interior has post and truss structure with tie
beams; 5 complete jowled bay posts and the upper parts of the
remainder; 14 have angle braces. Heavy principal rafter roof
with 2 purlins. Framing of 2 western bays is separate from the
rest. 2 boarded partitions between tie beam and ridge in central
bay.
