4/12 West Bridge
(That part in the former
Workshop M.B)

River bridge. Late C18. Possibly by Stephen Wright. Ashlar.
Vermiculated piers, impost and lintel bands and soffits. 3
unequal segmental arches with projecting soffits and 4 piers with
single round headed niches. Coped abutment walls with round
terminal piers with concave domed caps. Above, coped balustrade
with 4 intermediate piers with vermiculated panels. Below the
bridge is a cascade. The east facade is in the parish of
Elkesley. Also scheduled as an ancient monument.
