1/35 Canal 7 miles post
- approx. 200 metres
east of Foss Bridge

Canal milepost. Late C18. Cast iron post with rounded head and
moulded edge. Raised letters read: '7 MILES FROM THE TRENT'. The
figure 7 is on a riveted-on plate.
The canal was authorised in 1793 and this section was built by the
surveyor James Green, employed by Lord Middleton of Wollaton Hall.
