Railway cottage. Mid C19. Probably by T.C. Hine architect to
Nottingham-Lincoln Line. Grey brick, some ashlar. Pyramidal
slate roof. Single brick stack to rear. Raised eaves band,
chamfered ashlar plinth. 2 storeys, 3 bays. First floor ashlar
sill band and first floor lintel band. Central gabled porch with
wide eaves overhang supported on decorative brackets. Bands
following the line of the gable. Round arched entrance. In the
side walls are single small round arched panels. Inner doorway
with panelled door. Either side are single round arched panels
with single round arched casements, the left with glazing bars.
Above, single central casement flanked by single similar smaller
casements, all with flush wedge brick lintels. To the right, set
back, is a single storey, single bay C20 extension. Road front
has a single round arched panel containing single 2 light round
arched glazing bar casement. Above are 2 glazing bar cross
casements with flush wedge brick lintels.
