Estate lodge. Early C19. Brick, rendered and colourwashed, with
hipped Westmorland slate roof. Plinth, deep moulded and
modillioned eaves. 4 side wall stacks. 2 storeys, 1/3/1 bays.
Double depth, square plan with rear wing. Windows are mostly
Gothick casements. South front has at each side a single storey
single bay pavilion with pyramid roof. Each has a casement.
Central parapeted porch has round headed doorway with recessed
door. Flanked by single casements. Above, 3 casements. West
front has to left in return angle, partly glazed lean-to with
adjoining coped wall to north. To its right, door flanked by
single casements. To right again, a French window and a
casement. Above, a C20 casement. East front has a single
casement on each floor. Return angle has C20 door. Rear
elevation has to left, 2 glazing bar sashes and C20 casement.
Above, 3 glazing bar sashes. This building is part of the
complete Estate Village laid out by Earl Manvers of Thoresby Park
1807-1812.
