Ossington Hall

Monumental well. 1877. A memorial to Edward Denison, died 1870.
Ashlar with concave patterned tile roof. Terra cotta decorative
panels designed by John Birnie Philip. Classical style, single
bay, octagonal plan. Octagonal base of 3 steps. 4 Tuscan
columns on dice carrying octagonal canopy with terra cotta
panelled frieze and modillioned cornice. Roof has iron finial.
Interior has framed canted well head with windlass, flanked by
panelled pilasters. Inscribed tablet with terra cotta frieze.
Rear elevation has inscribed panel with verse signed by Viscount
Stratford de Redcliffe and dated Sept. 21st. 1877.
