11/16 The Old George and Dragon
II
Public house, now house. 1691 on datestone. Coursed limestone rubble; plain-tile
roof with brick stack. 2-unit gable-fronted plan. 2 storeys plus attic. Front
has a doorway to left and a C19 slated bay window plus small windows to the
upper floors, all with C20 casements. Datestone in apex of gable is inscribed
"RP/DP/1691". Large stack rises from a lateral gable to right. Interior: large
open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer; winder stair to attics.
