House, late C17/early C18.
MATERIALS: Limestone rubble with wooden lintels, Stonesfield-slate roof with rubble and brick stacks.
PLAN: 3-unit gable-fronted plan with 2 storeys plus attic.
EXTERIOR: Front has aligned casements of 3, 2 and 2 lights, smaller flanking windows at ground and first floor, probably inserted, plus a doorway to left. In the gable is a large sundial dated 1776. Left side wall has further casements and some chamfered lintels. Roof has a C20 dormer, a large brick ridge stack on a rubble base, plus a second stack to rear.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
REASONS FOR DESIGNATION
Greystones is designated at Grade II for the following principal reason:
* Early fabric: a surviving vernacular house of the late C17 or early C18.
