Barn. c.1400 with south wall possibly rebuilt. C19 repairs. Coursed limestone
rubble and squared coursed ironstone. Steeply pitched, corrugated-iron roof,
once thatched. 6 bays. Porch has wide plank doors and weather boarded gable.
Threshing floor third bay from right. Small square ventilation holes in right
end. Interior. 6 cruck trusses embedded in the wall approximately 5 feet above
ground level. Trusses have collar and tie beams, arched braces and saddles.
Ridge purlin, side purlins and windbraces. Midstrey with C20 repair but mostly
original. Similar in detail to the barn at Church Enstone dated 1382 and the
barn at Swalcliffe dated 1409.
