11/92 Souldern House

GV II

House. C17 with C18 alterations and C19 additions. Further additions and
alterations c.1920. Squared coursed limestone. Steeply pitched hipped and gabled
slate roofs with,stone coped gable. Renewed end stacks with brick shafts and
rendered bases. Rectangular plan with additions to rear. 2 storeys plus attic.
3-window range. Re-sited and now central entrance has glazed door, wood surround
and hood. Entrance is flanked by sashes with glazing bars and stone flat arches.
3 tall sashes with glazing bars on first floor have stone flat arches. Moulded
stone eaves cornice, 3 flat-roofed dormers. C19 addition to rear has canted bay
with hipped roof. Rear has re-sited early Cl8 shell hood on console brackets.
Interior: C18 painted pine panelling and cornices. C19 cornices. C17 moulded
cross beams.
