Public house. Probably early C18. Coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels;
Stonesfield-slate and corrugated-iron roofs with brick stacks. 2-unit plan plus
subsidiary range. 2 storeys. 3-window front of main range has a central doorway
and has renewed leaded casements except to left of the door where there is a
canted 5-light C18 bay window with a moulded cornice and tiled roof.
Steep-pitched roof has 2 stacks. Lower range to right, with a corrugated-iron
roof and part-rendered front, has mostly C20 openings but retains a loft door
over a garage entrance. Interior: chamfered beams. Recorded as a public house
since late C18. Included for group value.
