(South side)
8/163 Beeches
House. Circa 1800. Coursed limestone rubble with some ashlar dressings and some
wooden lintels; Welsh-slate roof with brick gable stacks. Double-depth plan. 2
storeys plus semi-basement. Symmetrical 3-window front, facing away from road,
has a central 4-panel door in an open wooden Gothick porch and has 12-pane
sashes, at first floor with lintels and at ground floor with ashlar flat arches;
semi-basement has sunken casements. Rear has further sashes with lintels.
Shallow-pitched roof. Interior: dogleg stair with stick balusters and turned
newels; panelled shutters.
