House. Datestone 1653/PP/IPAP, remodelled and extended C18. Regular coursed
ironstone rubble. Steeply pitched artificial stone slate roof laid to
diminishing courses. Stone stacks to right and ridge. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys
plus attic, 3-window range. 2 gabled bays to right. Bay to left has doorway with
4-centred head, chamfered jambs and plank door. Bay window to right has renewed
4-light stone mullion window with small opening casement. 2 similar windows to
first floors of both bays. Attic storeys of bays have 2-light stone mullioned
windows with hood moulds and label stops. Wrought iron casement fasteners.
Between the bays is a blocked square-framed stone window. To left a 4-light
stone mullioned window with hood mould and label stops to ground floor and a
similar 3-light window to first floor. Rear: C18 single-storey extension has
casement windows with lead cames. Most windows are of limestone, some with
renewed stone. Moulded bands to ground floor and attic of bays. Interior not
inspected. (Photograph in N.M.R. as plate 64 in Old Cottages (etc) in the
Cotswold District E.G. Bawber, 1905).
