(Formerly listed as Nos.23 and
House, now office. One of a pair built in 1866 by William Wilkinson of Oxford,
for W.J. Douglas, owner of Castle House (q.v.). Red, white, black and blue brick
with dressings of 2 different stones. Gothic style,hipped,slated roof with finials &
ornamental ridge. Brick twin-shafted lateral stacks. 2 storeys plus attic.
Narrow frontage. Ground floor has heavily carved foliated stone capital to
pillar between sashes. First floor has a paired sash window. Flat roofed attic
dormer. Brick and stone corner turret to right. Wrought iron balcony and
continuous stone hood mould to first floor windows. Entrance to side. Noted as
being a rare example, together with No.23 of a folly or double cottage orne.
