House. RCHM 181. The walls are of rubble and brick and timber framing.
The main part of the house on the South East is C16-C17 with a C18 wing on
the North East. At the back on the South West is an extension, probably
late Cl7. There are later additions. East Elevation. 2-storeyed stuccoed
ground floor with a roughcast 1st floor; it has a 3-sided projecting 2-storeyed
bay in the centre which is flanked by a gable. The South gable is tile hung
and the North one roughcast. The bay has in the ground floor an early C19
reeded window frame with paterae and all the sash windows appear to be of
this date. The elevation between the gables and over the bay has a cornice
and parapet. There is an early C19 rustic trellis porch with a lead hood.
Extending eastwards on the North is a one-storey stone C18 wing with a flat
roof and 2 casement windows. Interior: RCHM page 178b. Includes stone fireplaces
and moulded and plastered ceiling beams.
Nos 31 to 46 (consec) and Nos 49 to 56 (consec) form a group.
