1. MARKET PLACE

C18. Silver grey brick facade with red quoins and window dressings.
Bracketed, moulded, wood cornice, parapet with stone coping. 3 storeys,
5 windows all sashes with glazing bars. Central portion, of 3 bays, breaks
forward and is carried up to pediment with crowning cornice. Tympanum
carries a semi-circular red brick panel. Ground floor has altered, C19
shop front with cast iron corner pillars, tiled plinth and sides, no glazing
bars remain. Massive, reproduction panelled doors to carriageway entrance
at western side.
No 10 forms part of a group associated with Nos 20 to 36 (even) barn at
the rear of 32 to 34 (even) the Town Hall and Nos 5 to 31 (odd) opposite.
