Late C17/early C18. Silver grey brick with red brick dressings, including
window arches and string course of rubbed red brickwork. Stone window
sills. Heavy moulded, wooden modillion cornice. Steeply pitched, old
tiled, roof. 2 storeys and attic, 2 dormers with moulded pediments and
contemporary leaded casements. 6 windows, C18 sashes, all with glazing
bars, those of 1st floor with flush frames. Doorway with slightly recessed,
moulded architrave. Pedimented door hood, probably a preplacement, on
engraved scroll brackets. Good, 10 panelled door.
Nos 37 to 43 (odd), White Cottage, the Malthouse of Henley Brewery, Nos
51 to 55 (odd) and Wattle Cottage form a group with Nos 84 to 88 (even)
and with No 29 Thameside.
