South gatepier and attached
9/25 wall on west side of stable-
yard at Denton House.
GV II

Gatepier and wall. Mid C18. Limestone ashlar and rubble. Ashlar gatepier, one
of a pair flanking the entrance to the stableyard, has a moulded cornice and
ball finial. The wall, of serpentine plan, is of banded rubble and ashlar with
a flat coping sweeping up to the abutments and over a subsidiary 3-centre
arched doorway with a moulded stone architrave and keyblock.
