13/71 Manor House, former dovecote
approx 30 metres south-west of
GV II

Former dovecote, now granary. C18 roof, possibly much earlier walls, converted
early C19. Limestone rubble with plain-tile roof. Very thick battered walls
rise from a rubble plinth with a small, deeply-recessed entrance to east
containing a 2-plank door in a heavy wooden frame. West face has inserted
second entrance and grain-loft door with brick dressings. Pyramid roof with
wooden ball finial. Interior: Stone nesting-boxes bricked-up and granary
floor inserted; base of framing for glover survives in 2-truss roof.
