2/26 Midsummer Cottage


House. 1742 on datestone. Limestone rubble; part-old plain-tile roof with brick
gable stacks. 2-unit plan extended to rear. One storey plus attics. 2-window
front, with rough plinth, has central door between casements (3-light to left
and altered to 2-light to right) all under brick segmental arches. Two 2-light
roof dormers. County Insurance plaque above door and datestone to left inscribed
"RM/1742". Outbuilding to left has higher roof with further dormer. C19 rubble
rear wing with further C20 extension. Interior not inspected. Forms an L-shaped
group with Alflyn (q,v.),
