Milestone. Early C18. Limestone. Tapering stone of oval plan with rounded top.
South face inscribed "XLIX/Miles From/ London/ To Oxford/ V", probably partly
re-cut over damaged surface. The road was turnpiked in 1719 by The Stokenchurch
and Enslow Trust.
