Row of 4 cottages, now 2 dwellings. Late C17/early C18 and early/mid C18.
Limestone rubble and timber lintels; thatched and plain-tile roofs. Single-unit
plans, combined. One storey plus attics and 2 storeys. Thatched earlier cottage
pair, to left, has plank door and adjacent 2-light casement, formerly second
door, plus one small dormer. Cottage pair, to right, retain both plank doors and
a 2-light casement. Thatched roof, half hipped to left, has stone and brick
gable stacks; lower-pitched tiled roof has further gable stack to right.
Principal fenestration at rear with rows of 4 casements at ground and first
floors. The earlier pair have 3-light casement at ground floor and small dormers
with heavy frames, and there are remains of, a plinth with ashlar offset, now
rendered over. Interior: 3 steep stairs; massive stack with blocked fireplace
and bread oven in earlier unit, Probably a 2-unit cottage, divided and extended
into row of 4.
