Small house. Probably C16 or earlier, extended C20. Limestone rubble and timber
framing with stone and brick infill; plain tile roof with brick gable stack.
2-unit plan. One storey plus attics. Front has timber framing to right with
brick infill. Left gable wall contains a cruck frame. Extension and projecting
wing to right. C20 windows and dormers. Interior: Virtually-intact 2-bay cruck
structure. Central jowled post carries original first floor in right bay and C17
floor with chamfered and stopped joists inserted into hall bay to left. Large
stack against left gable wall, probably C17, has open fireplace with brick jambs
and bread oven. Two-light window with diamond mullions visible on inner face of
rear wall.
