2/127 Wheatley Bridge Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Late C18. Limestone ashlar and rubble; Welsh slate roof with brick
stacks. Central-stair plan with rear outshut. 2 storeys plus attics. Symmetrical
3-window ashlar front, with storey band and recessed panels over first-floor
windows, has tripartite sashes flanking, at ground floor, a 6-panel door and, at
first floor, a 12-pane sash. Shallow-pitched half-hipped roof. End walls have
2-light leaded casements to second floor and blind windows below, all with stone
flat arches. Full-width rear outshut has casements of 2 and 3 leaded lights, and
is of slightly later date. Interior: Large stone fireplace in kitchen; plain
stair with stick balusters.
