Terrace walls and gatepiers in front of Tiddington House

GV
II

Terrace walls and attached gatepiers. Early C18. Red brick walls and limestone
piers. Walls flank iron gateway leading to main door of Tiddington House (q.v.)
and have projecting rectangular panels and pilasters, with moulded courses
forming plinth and cornice. The brick walls and the rubble wall to right retain
the terrace in front of the house, and the gateway is approached by a flight of
4 steps with curving walls. To right is a vehicular entrance flanked by curving
squared limestone walls and 4 ashlar piers with chamfered bases, moulded
entablatures and small ball finials.
